Commentators are tripping over one another to declare this country or that country’s stimulus package as a primary reason to pour money into its stock market. Yet if you look at the highly damaging long-term effects of such loose monetary and fiscal policies, an investor can come to only one conclusion: You should invest in the country with the smallest stimulus package.
Stimulus packages are all the rage right now. President-elect Barack Obama has promised an $800 billion package for the United States, which equates to nearly 7% of U.S. gross domestic product (GDP). And there are plenty of others:

- South Korea’s government announced plans for a 14 trillion won ($10.8 billion) economic stimulus aimed to create an extra 200,000 jobs, extend tax breaks for factory investments and increase infrastructure spending and development. Relief measures announced this year now total 33 trillion won, according to the finance ministry, Bloomberg reported.

The High-Tech View: New Ventures Have Sanyo Looking Sharp
Japan’s Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. (OTC ADR: SANYY) has become the latest company to become part of the industry cadre that’s buying liquid-crystal display (LCD) panels from Sharp Corp. (OTC ADR: SHCAY) for use in flat-panel televisions.
Sanyo said it started procuring the display panels from Sharp in April, and would use them for the LCD TVs it’s producing for the North American market. And while Sanyo said it will keep buying LCD panels from other suppliers, too, the company also said that it’s in talks with Sharp about a program in which the two would jointly develop a line of kitchen…
