LBO Pioneer KKR Goes Public
Private-equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. plans to go public by year-end as part of its plan to bail out the company’s struggling Euronext-listed investment fund.
KKR Private Equity Investors (PINK: KPEQF), which has lost 40% of its value year-to-date and is currently listed on Euronext Amsterdam, will be dissolved as part of the deal, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. announced via a press release posted on its website. Current shareholders of the investment fund will receive shares of the newly formed entity, KKR & Co. LP (KKR) , which will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Just one day after Money Morning predicted that the U.S. Federal Reserve would soon be forced to increase interest rates, Dallas Fed President Richard W. Fisher said he expected the central bank would raise interest rates should inflationary pressures start causing severe consumer pain.
“If inflationary developments and, more important, inflation expectations continue to worsen, I would expect a change of course in monetary policy to occur sooner rather than later, even in the face of an anemic” U.S. economy, Fisher said during a Wednesday speech in San Francisco.
