Do you hear the calls for a challenge to U.S. power? It is everywhere these days. Now that the Soviet Cold War threat has dissolved, who needs the United States to fend off the bullies in the global playground. Those who believe that economic prosperity and life will continue to be merry without U.S. leadership may want to think again. Better yet, can the global economy afford to exist without direction and leadership in general?
Let’s say the U.S. were to gradually lose power and influence to the point where nations either scrambled to defend themselves or formed alliances in…

I would like to begin this post with a brief excerpt from an article in the latest Time Magazine article titled, “The Federal Job Machine” dated sometime in early ‘07.
24Apr2008 | S. Oakes | 4 comments | Continued“President George W. Bush labored to make the case that the economy is “strong,” using the word eight times in one speech in Peoria, Ill. In terms of the basic indicators of economic growth (now 3.5% annually) and unemployment at 4.6%, he’s right. But when you consider that 2% of the current U.S. economic activity is the product of federal deficit spending and more than 6% is paid for with money…

Clinton scored a much needed 55% to 45% victory and has already begun to pull in the necessary donations to keep her campaign alive. This ten point margin means that Clinton still remains the underdog, but her odds of being the democratic presidential nominee is now considerably higher than the conventional wisdom in the media would lead you to believe. Enjoy…

Can Barack Obama Close the Deal with Democratic Voters?
I ran into an interesting article over at RealClearPolitics titled, “Why Pennsylvania Matters” written by John McIntyre. Hillary Clinton is playing a popular vote strategy, which is the only way she can hope to force the superdelegates to hand her the democratic nomination. If she were to win the popular vote, then she’s be able to essentially cancel out Obama’s national delegate count lead. If this scenario turns out to be true, then Clinton could argue that she has won most of the important swing states (including Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania) that…

While many economic pundits trip over each other’s heels in an attempt to accurately read the market’s signals, I’m about to show you how to make a quick buck and have fun doing it.
Okay, so I can’t literally guarantee that you’ll come out with stellar returns on the play I’ve zeroed in on, but I can promise that in the current choppy market waters, this one have the technical DNA of a champion over the next several days or so.
Sherwin Williams (SHW:NYSE) has been on a steady upward trajectory over the past week or so. Today’s pullback is only…
