CLOSING THE DEAL
Going into an big interview can be a bit intimidating for some, but for those who are confident and well prepared; interviews are nothing more than a walk in the park. Its crucial for someone who really wants the job to “Close” before he or she heads out, because it shows how much you really want the job and you are prepared step into the opportunity with drive and motivation. Failure is not an option when going into an interview and you should be thinking that before you step into anyone’s office. Yes, it is true that the first 30 seconds of an interview will determine if you are a good candidate or not, but closing the deal just before you leave will solidify your candidacy. Here are some lines you can use in an interview to help you close on your next opportunity.
- Mr. Smith; thank you so much for this opportunity to interview at XYZ. I understand there are other candidates, but I feel that my skills and qualifications are a perfect match for what your looking for. Do you see any reason why I wouldn’t move forward in the interview process?
Put that line out there and put them on the spot. It shows you really want it and it will force them to give you either a response of “Yes, we like you!” or they will beat around the bush and give you a bullshit answer and then you will know not to get your hopes up.
- Mr. Smith, I truly respect all of your success with company XYZ. I feel your are a very talented professional with alot of success under your belt. What is it going to take to join the winning team? I feel that I can learn a great deal from you and be a valuable asset for the company. Do you see any reason why I wouldn’t move forward in the interview process!
_ Mr. Smith, thank you once again for taking time out of your busy schedule; given my solid credentials, strong resume and results driven attitude I feel I am the best candidate for the job and I will do whatever it takes to become a member of XYZ company. What is the next step in the interview process and can we set up a follow-up interview now?
This is a very aggressive approach so you have to feel very comfortable and have some good rapport established before throwing this one out.
As always feel free to leave questions, comments and success stories.
Cheers,
