ACT AS IF
We all come to a point in life when we ask ourselves; where is our life going? Have I done enough to succeed? Have I grown within my company and do I deserve to be making more money elsewhere? Let me tell you all a little bit about making it in corporate America. It is a jungle out there and everyone is out for themselves. You hear all this talk about team work and Comorodory; that’s great, but at the end of the day everyone is trying to get a step up and make a move for that next position. You need to be greedy in today’s business world for lack of a better word. You need to focus on yourself and work everyday as if it were your last. Be a leader and not a follower, an innovator rather than just an idea gatherer. I would like to quote a line from one of my favorite movies and it goes like this:
“There’s an important phrase that we use here, and think it’s time that you all learned it. Act as if. Act as if you understand what that means? Act as if you are the fucking President of this firm. Act as if you got a 9″ cock. Okay? Act as if!
There is stiff competition in every industry out there whether it be a position in sales, consulting, IT, HR or Finance. As I said before, everyone is out for themselves which is why you should implement the “Act As If” Rule. Every day you should be poised and confident in everything you do. Go to the office with your head high, a fresh mind, and unlimited energy. Make yourself known and act as if you are an important figure within the company. Take initiative and be vocal at meetings, make comments and ask good questions when in the company of your subordinates and peers. It is tough climbing the ladder of success these days which is why if you listen to me and use this rule you will feel good about yourself and start getting noticed. Attitude is everything and if you consistently keep a positive demeanor and brand yourself within your company…all of your hard work will pay off and you will eventually one day be the president of the firm. And don’t forget dress to impress too!
So remember until that day “ACT AS IF”
Cheers,
