Fox News: Fair but Unbalanced

Last night’s show on Hannity and Colmes equated to me yelling at the television. Well, more so at Sean Hannity, who never fails to irritate me in some way and Colmes for being such a chimp. Honestly, I have no idea why I watch it, but sometimes it can be good to get a different perspective on things.

In connection to my previous post in regards to impeachment, Hannity had the balls to tell a guest on the show in support of impeachment that she was a disgrace.

Hannity & Colmes

Excuse me Mr. Hannity! Let’s take one giant step backwards here…

I believe you were an avid supporter of the Clinton impeachment movement that had far less support or reason to do so in the eyes of the American public. Also, what is wrong with holding someone accountable for their actions if it is proven that this individual broke the law? I do not care whether or not you are the President of the United States. No one is above the law that is agreed upon by the people and for the people.

Furthermore, there was the quick special on Hannity’s trip over to Iraq to see our soldiers. Instead of keeping the focus of them and their mission, this clown actually decides to throw in a quick political jab at John Kerry’s botched joke by asking a soldier whether or not he was offended by Kerry’s remarks. Do you honestly believe Fox would air a video in which a soldier offered an opinion contrary to the beliefs of those on the right? News flash Mr. Hannity, soldiers and Republicans are not the only people who love their country so please step away from the kiddy table. I believe Bill Maher from “Real Time” put it best when he said. “I do not hate my country, I’m embarrassed.” This statement came at a time when Republicans dominated Washington.

Then to make things worse, he gloats in sending the message, “Look at me and how wonderful I am greeting the troops overseas. Did you see how natural that was?” Give me a break.

Then they brought the infamous and disgraceful Tom DeLay on the show to discuss his new blog. Apparently that is all he is good for these days. At any rate, he went on to rant about how it was the Liberals and Democrats who were responsible for the problems in Iraq.

Please…

Nice try, but it was not the left who had control of the Presidency and Congress when war was declared. If you are blaming the left for all your problems you might as well blame Independent and Republican voters who prevented your party from maintaining its grip on the Senate and House of Representatives in the 2006 mid-term elections. Yes, what a wonderful strategy, keep telling the majority of American people how wrong they are in voting to change course. I’m sure that will win you and your party bonus points.

So this is Fox’s “Fair and Balanced” show. Instead of just saying fair and balanced why can’t they say fair and balanced in comparison to the other media networks? If they are going to favor the Republican cause then admit it. The same goes for the other networks. Obviously there is a bias by each network to side with a political party, but let’s not kid ourselves any further. As long as each side has a voice. This is unrealistic I realize, but serves as a great way to get the debate and discussion juices flowing.

What are your thoughts???
