Residual Income: Blogging for Money & Multiple Income Streams

Blogging

Blogging is a wonderful way to reach out to those who share similar interests. It is also a means of expressing your thoughts and ideas to the world. The opportunity for anyone who aspires to become an editor and create value for his or her readers is now possible for the average person. Blogging to me represents freedom of speech and fairness of publication in its purest form. I am by no means the best or most polished writer, but believe in writing in a fashion that best reflects who you are as a person. If you are not honest with yourself how is anyone else going to trust you? One of the first things you want to establish with your readers is trust. Without it you may never see them again.

Blogging for Money

Writing in this blog has been very liberating, but there are always the costs of running and improving your site. Keeping systems in place to ensure that your online community has the functionality to respond and communicate is very important. In fact, an added benefit of blogging is the ability to make money through advertisements, affiliate programs, subscription services, etc. etc. Blogging for money is one way to provide an additional income stream that is residual and continuous. This means that while you sleep there are probably others out there who will view your site, click on an advertisement, and make you money with little effort on your part.

Make Money with Good Content

In my opinion blogging for money should always come second to writing high quality content that provides a service to your readers. For example, I try to find the best momentum stock plays and help my readers visualize the trade by placing charts and analysis of different securities. If the quality of your posts is lacking and you can not retain and build upon existing readers there will be no one left to click on any of your ads. Try to write every article with the intention that it will be the greatest article you have ever written.

Not every post has to be a novel. Short posts hold the readers’ attention longer because the average person often gets bored with long-winded writings. Also, try to make occasional and proper use of key words, phrases, pictures, and video. These creative features can be very appealing.

Making Money with Google Adsense

Using Google Adsense to make money is great place for beginners to start. If you look closely at my site you will notice that there are small ads placed in various locations. When visitors come to your site and click on these ads you will earn ad revenue. There is no set payout as this number depends on the ad on display. Usually you will earn money anywhere from cents to a few dollars.

When you sign up you will fill out tax forms and begin utilizing Google Adsense site to mix and match ads that will fit the color theme of your site. You want to blend these ads in with your content to increase the likelihood that someone will click on your ad.

Note: Do not click on your own ads or your account will be frozen and possibly terminated.

There are other means and programs useful in bringing in ad revenue (Chitika eMiniMalls & Text Link Ads), but this post would be found at another date in time when I have had the chance to utilize those options and speak on behalf of my own experiences.
