Condoleezza “Condi” Rice, the current Secretary of State, has been overlooked among Democrats just in the same way Hillary Rodham Clinton is underestimated by Republicans.
It is my opinion that the Republican nomination will go to either Rice or McCain. Rice has been overlooked because she never seeks office, but is instead drafted for prominent positions and continues to impress the people od power for support. Her credentials and background are sound and as the racial and gender profiles slowly dissolve and become more acceptable to the American public, she will gain traction.
The grassroots and internet campaigns have already begun and it is only a matter of time before she becomes the opposite on stage with Hillary. Click here to see evidence of this movement. This would be a presidential battle for the ages. One that would send a signal to minorities and especially women that the glass ceiling has truly been shattered.
I admire Condi for being an individual and role model for her people. Unfortunately, we live in a time where my vote is better utilized in supporting Democrats on all levels. I believe my country has a greater need in re-balancing power at both the White House and Congress.
