Keep it Simple

How many times have you gone out and purchased something that you never use anymore and now it just takes up space?

How many times have you moved only to be buried in useless items that no longer hold any sentimental value?

In many ways it might seem as though life would just be easier if you did not have to worry about the items clogging your life. Every single day you are bombarded by advertising telling you to buy things that you really do not need.

Now I am not telling you that you should just quit spending cold turkey, but you can learn to control the impulsive behavior. Nothing says you can not enjoy your money. Just do it in moderation. In many ways some people have lost touch with what moderation means. If you can not pay off your credit card completely every month, then you might have some spending issues. When we work harder for something we really want the satifaction is many times greater.

When I see the neighbor next door with a nice house, swimming pool, and fancy car, I train myself to believe that this person is up to their neck in debt. This might not be the case, but the chances are that this type of lifestyle is indicative of someone who takes on debt. This is just a simple mind strategy that works for me. My point is that you can go against the grain and begin to apply your dollars towards better investments. There might come a time when you really need the money just to survive. You never know!
