Those of us on the left should be proud and stand up for what we believe. We know that the Democratic Party has stood up for human rights, fiscal responsibility, environmental responsibility, and economic sustainability, etc. We also know that our party will continue to meet the many challenges of the 21st century. Our modern day prejudices need to disappear and only serve a self-defeating purpose. I think Republicans wish they could turn back the clock their glory days of old. Those memories may be of good times, but if they fail to embrace change and strive for equal rights, then they will certainly become obsolete and alienated themselves. We live in a global world and economy. If they can not adapt and change, I am confident that people will begin to see the vision that the Democratic has always seen, regardless of our differences on how to get there. The Republicans would like us to believe that we are a divided party when in fact we are a party of heterogeneity and new ideas. Republicans pledge allegiance to a president who consistently goes against many of the things they once stood for, fiscal responsibility for example.
