Now that the Soviet Union has collapsed, the world is finding that is has less need for protection and guidance. So why is it that the United States is increasing its funding of the military and neglecting its citizens? There must be more attention paid to our domestic situation. The American dream is beginning to slowly fade. The purchasing power of the dollar is being reduced each and every day. A larger percentage of Americans are falling below the poverty line. Now I am not promoting social programs that would just give money away. Instead, we should determine each person’s strengths and passions, train them in the skills they need, and match open positions to their qualifications.
