Another key issue is one of student immigration. I remember reading an article regarding the significant drop in acceptance of foreign students following the September 11th attacks. I believe the United States should seek to bring in as much talent from overseas as possible. An example of this can be seen when German nuclear scientists fled Nazi Germany to pursue a corrupt regime and continue their research. Obtaining nuclear technology aided the United Stated in becoming a superpower and further strengthening its military and defensive options. We should make it easier for students to gain access to our education system, offer an easier path towards citizenship, and encourage them to stay within the country.
